Local Knowledge:
A native of San Francisco; Greg Terry well versed in the dynamics, tempo, changes and nuances of Bay Area Real Estate. Since beginning his real estate career over 37 years ago, Greg has not only witnessed change but, has been a part of the evolution.
Personal Skills:
Greg didn’t merely “fall into” the field….it was a unique alignment of innate skills, education, family background and passion to excel. Generations of Terry’s were in Real Estate and Construction in the Bay Area, including my Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Uncles…..thus, the DNA….per Greg: “I grew up working on houses and buildings up and down the Peninsula, my Dad’s projects. I learned how to renovate the old, build from the ground up and add on to the existing. The sense of fulfillment, discipline of dedication, confidence of competition were instilled as a result of these experiences. My educational background with a B.S. Degree in Accounting from University of San Francisco nurtured another skill set vital to success in real estate. After incubating for two years in public accounting, passion to launch a real estate career manifested itself inside me and I launched…..this passion hasn’t hit terminal velocity yet, all these years later…..I pride myself in listening, discovering and fulfilling my clients needs”…..find out more!!!
Product Knowledge/Education:
Greg comes from a family of builders and spent years, while in school, working for his father’s construction company. Greg has built and remodeled homes and buildings “from the ground up.” Knowing how dwellings/buildings are built facilitates his ability to understand his product whether it’s a single-family home, an apartment complex, or a commercial building. Real estate requires detailed knowledge of the product and how it’s made, this helps me represent my product as both a listing agent and to Buyers as a selling agent. Greg entered real estate after completing a B.S. degree in Accounting at the University of San Francisco and spent time working for Ernst & Young right after college. His broad knowledge and understanding of the financial side of real estate transactions come from this, “two years in public accounting was like serving another apprenticeship but, this time on the financial side (as opposed to construction) as I spent most of my time working in the Banking/Real Estate/Lumber sector of my former firm’s client base”.
Career Success:
In early 1987 Greg merged his past experiences and acumen with a career in real estate by joining Cornish & Carey and immediately attained success as a nominee for “Rookie of the Year” and Top Producer awards every year thereafter. Then, in 1997 Cornish & Carey was absorbed by another company and left to establish the Mid-Peninsula offices of Alain Pinel REALTORS®. APR has since joined forces with Compass Real Estate. “I am proud to be part of Compass, one of the most well-respected and successful real estate firms in the world. Everything they/we do here is first class, cutting edge, and dedicated”. Greg has enjoyed over 37 years of success in real estate. He has been in the top echelon of production since the start of his career and currently ranks in the top 5% of all Compass agents. His ability to navigate any type of real estate transaction makes him unique in his field. Whether it’s residential or commercial Greg has earned a reputation as an expert at marketing and negotiating. “I am at ease with any type of real estate transaction and have the track record to back it up. For over 37 years I have maintained the notion that I am here to represent my clients with expertise in all areas of the trade: “Because my Clients often invest in all areas of real estate, I put myself in a position to serve them with the highest degree of knowledge and professionalism”.
